About Us
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website! We are delighted you have taken the time to visit us. Whether you are a prospective member, a current member, or simply someone who enjoys and supports the arts, we hope you will find something here that interests you. Most importantly, we hope you will make plans to visit beautiful North Georgia and join us for one of our special concerts!
The Tri-State Community Band has a threefold mission: to provide opportunities for area musicians to come together and perform quality concert band literature, to serve as an educational and musical resource for our local schools, and to present concerts throughout the year for the enjoyment of our communities in Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
If you are interested in joining us, we would love to meet you! Our rehearsals are typically held on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at either Fannin County High School in Blue Ridge, Georgia, or Union County High School in Blairsville, Georgia.
One of the things that makes our band so special is the wonderful diversity of our membership. Our musicians range from enthusiastic amateurs to experienced semi-professional performers, representing a wide variety of ages, backgrounds, and musical experiences. Some are actively pursuing careers, while others are enjoying retirement. We come from different walks of life, but we all share something very special: a genuine love for band music and the joy of making music together.
We believe there is something truly meaningful about people coming together, sharing their talents, and creating something beautiful for others to enjoy. We take pride in performing quality music, supporting music education, and contributing to the cultural life of the communities we serve. Just as importantly, we value the friendships and relationships that grow through our shared love of music.
We are also proud members of the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce and believe strongly in the importance of a vibrant arts community. We are grateful for the many individuals, families, businesses, and organizations whose encouragement and support make our work possible.
Please take some time to explore our website, learn more about our band, and see what we have planned for the coming year. Whether you are interested in performing with us, attending a concert, or supporting our mission, there is a place for you in the Tri-State Community Band family!
We look forward to meeting you, hearing from you, and hopefully sharing some wonderful music together very soon!
Sincerely,
Dr. Scott Barnstead
President
Tri-State Community Band
